OWL Spotlight

So did you know that there is a feature on Etsy.com that lets sellers make "teams"?  It's pretty cool, and a good way to get to know like-minded people!  Well, I'm in a team, called the Owls.  (Stands for Off-the-wall-ladies.)  It's an awesome group, with lots of talented sellers.  I've decided to have a little feature on here until the end of November, showing you some of those sellers and their fantastic items!  

The first post for this feature will be posted today.  Hooray!

The Fall Festival

So, I'm going downtown today to volunteer for the Camp Fire USA booth at the Fall Festival.  The weather is looking very autumn-y!

EDIT: Well, that didn't really work out.  The snow is so laden with water that it's been weighing down trees, so branches were broken off everywhere.  Some onto power lines, which might be why the power downtown was completely out.  All the booths were gone - no one was even attempting to set up.  I have this strange feeling that I should be going to get a Christmas tree soon, which was not helped by the fact that we saw a sign advertising a Christmas bazaar coming up.  (Seriously, this early?)  Have we just time traveled to December??????

I've decided to adopt the old camera that we have...  It's heavier and larger than our every-day camera but I think it takes better pictures.  

So I took this photo yesterday (the first day of fall!)  after I asked mom to get me a pumpkin at the store.  After I took the photo I carved the pumpkin and roasted the seeds.  (Yum.)  Then we made apple pie for dessert tonight.  I think it was a pretty appropriate first day of fall.

Painted Rocks

During our trip to Cape Cod last month, I decided to paint some rocks and leave them on the beach.  I was hoping to hear from the people who found them, but I haven't heard anything yet so I probably won't at all.  Ah well.

Visiting Grandma

Well, visiting my friend's grandma anyway.  I came with her and her family to stay for the week.  So far we've gone to the wave pool (very cool), a movie (the Time Traveler's's Wife), the mall (good for its pretzels and people-watching), two parks, and Goodwill to buy things for our Halloween costumes.  (I'm going to be winter, and my friends are going to be the other seasons.)

Trunk Show

If you came to the trunk show, thank you very much!  I hope you had fun!  Tons of prizes were given away to the lucky people who guessed at the trivia questions.  I'm still offering free shipping tomorrow, if you'd like to check out my stuff.  :)

My Etsy team, the OWLS, is having an awesome trunk show that you need to come to!  (If you didn't know, Etsy.com is a site where people sell handmade things.)

2. At 4 on Wednesday the 19th, go to Etsy.com > community > virtual labs

3. Click to join the "Gallery" room

Old, old posts...

I was going through old files to see if I could delete some stuff, and I rediscovered files from my old website.  Some of you might have read the blog I had on there, but it was so long ago even I didn't remember them at all.  So, I think I might do a series of reposts; it's interesting to see what I wrote 4 years ago!  

So, I will start posting those!  Seeya soon!

It's Fair Time!

Me and three friends went to the fair today!  We got the unlimited rides wristbands and went on $100 worth of rides.  

Bumper cars was a lot of fun.  We went on that about 10 times.  We didn't think it would be very fun, but we went in the fun house anyways.  (It lived up to expectations.)

I entered 2 photos, and knitted blanket, a collage, and computer art in the fair.  I did considerably less well than last year.  (Three 2nds, one 3rd this year, a grand champion, a 1st and a 2nd last year.)  Ah well.  It might have had something to do with the fact that I didn't even finish the collage and computer art until the day I had to bring it in!
